Virgin Resilient Lady is ready to start the trip soon

June is almost gone and we are glad to announce another big order API have wisely carried out.

Virgin Resilient Lady is on its way to start the trip on 1st July 2022! Ordered by Virgin Voyages, part of Virgin Group, this 278-meter-long luxury cruise has been built in Fincantieri’s shipyards, located in Sestri Ponente (Genova). 

On January 2021, Fincantieri reached us out to ask for a structured and detailed flooring solution for the ship, so as to coat its exterior decks and adorn all the interiors with accurate details. Resilient Lady is the 3rd Virgin cruise we covered throughout these years, after Scarlett Lady and Valiant Lady.

We figured it out with one of our best-practice materials: the Flexigel Cycle. Once prepared the support and applied the underlays, we upholstered each surface with a Synthetic Decorated solution – API Flexigel Decoro – customizing colours and tailoring them for every area we need to coat. Aged oak barrel pattern for outer balconies, addition of black seams on open decks, light grey for crew areas, glittered for the theater, non-slip blue for the pool. We personally designed sport and game spaces, as for the chessboard, the Twister pad, the Paddle court, the jogging track. 

We also took care of all heavy-duty areas, applying our API Flexisecurit ER as top-coat and a very high-built Flexiplast HT underlay. Then, we added a final layer choosing API Shield – ex API Wax – as a transparent flooring protectant.   
The result was an amazing, tailor-made design, up to the task for a big cruise ready to start a long trip seaward. We worked hard for this, another great experience to store successfully. Now, it’s up to our fourth Virgin: Brilliant Lady!
